MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 11th August 2008

40. Questions from the Public
No questions were asked.
41. Apologies were received from Cllr P Privett and Cllr R Giles (DCC)
42. Minutes The minutes of the meeting held on 19th July 2008 were confirmed bythe council and signed by the Chairman Cllr M Smith.
43. Declarations of Interest from Members and Officers
No declarations were made.
44. Finance – To authorise July/August payments.

45. 2007/2008 Feniton Parish Council Accounts
The Council discussed the 2006/2007 Annual Parish Council Accounts that were prepared by the previous Clerk; the accounts were passed and signed by the Chairman along with the Audit Commission forms. The Council noted the comment by the independent auditor that the council needed more than two signators to the Bank Account (this is currently being rectified).
46. Village Handyman’s Report.
Nothing to report.
47. Sign various NatWest Papers
Member of the council that were present and the clerk signed NatWest Bank Account forms to become extra signators to the councils bank account instead of relying on just two signators.
48. Planning Application
- a) 08/1973/FUL Mr & Mrs Prettejohn 10 Ely Close, Feniton EX14 3EYErection of rear single story extension and alterations
In principle the council had no objection to this extension but would like EDDC to consider any loss of light by the adjoining property.

Cllr P Blackmore and the Clerk will attend this meeting. - b) Kompan Ltd, invitation to seminar Thursday 18th September 2008

Copies of the questionnaire were distributed to the Councillors for completing by the next Council meeting in September. - k) DAPC Long Life Learning Network Conference, Thursday 11th September The Clerk agreed to attend this conference.
48. A.O.B.
- a) Escot Footpath Closures
Cllr P Blackmore was concerned that Escot had closed various Public Footpaths for the Beautiful Days forthcoming concert without the proper authority. The Clerk had only today received information from EDDC confirming that an application from Escot to close the footpaths which has been granted. The council has instructed the clerk to find out if hand written notices were legal or should official notices be used? - b) It was brought to the council’s attention that vandals had removed some bolts from the play equipment at the QEII Playing fields; the clerk was instructed to ask the Village Handyman to carry out repairs.
