MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 14TH APRIL 2008

No issues were raised.
168. Apologies for Absence
Apologies were accepted and approved.
169. Minutes
The minutes of the meeting held on 10th March 2008 were confirmed and signed by the Chairman.
170. Declarations of interest
No declarations were made.
171. Police Officer’s Report
A written report from PC Tryrrell detailed 4 crimes during March, 1 burglary, 1 theft of garden furniture, 1 attempted burglary and 1 non-crime domestic dispute.
172. Consideration of Planning Matters
- a. 08/0178/FUL 70 Wells Ave – extension.
EDDC recommended conditional approval. - b. 08/0747/FUL 1 Lincoln Close –extension.
Recommend approval although concerns raised that access to property should not be made wider. - c. 08/0141/FUL 14 Feniton Gardens –extension.
EDDC recommended approval. - d. 19 Salisbury Ave – extension
Correspondence was noted in which the writer objected to the current planning application relating to this property. - e. 5 York Crescent – Members noted the correspondence from the solicitor of Mr John Partridge, 3 York Crescent to the owners of 5 York Crescent regarding the extension at the property.
173. Finance
The following payments were authorised:
1558 - Feniton Village Hall - £190 - Hiring the annexe for council meetings
1559 - A Spry - £158.20 - Village handyman
1560 - Play Safety Ltd. - £77.55 - Annual playground safety inspection
174. Correspondence
- a. EDDC Local Development Framework – The document from EDDC was taken by Cllr Mrs Tomkins and Cllr Jolly for comments.
- b. Travelling Show People – A letter was considered from Mr Michael Devey and Mr Robert Kefford requesting a site for a community of travelling show people. Members took note.
175. Late Entry Correspondence
Two applications for the position of clerk had been received. It was Resolved that Cllrs Privett and Mrs Blackmore should arrange a mutually convenient time to interview the candidates.
176. Village Handyman’s Report
Mr Spry reported repair to a bench near the Ely Close Play Area at a cost of £17.50. He also reported the disposal of wheels and tyres by fly tipping at the QEII Recreation Ground. He had arranged for their removal at a cost of £158.20.
177. Individual Member Responsibilities
Cllr Preston reported complaints from a member of the public over the height of the swings at the QEII play area. Cllr Mrs Tomkins agreed to look in to the matter.
178. Parish Council Website
Members agreed that several items on the website needed updating as soon as possible.
179. Date of next meeting
Monday 12th May 2008,
