Chairman I have lived in the village with my wife and family for over twenty years. For three of them I was Chairman of the Feniton Carnival Committee, which the longer standing villagers will remember. My children all attended Feniton Primary School and I was very onvolved for many years with the PTA, also serving as a parent Governor. I have been chairman of the Feniton Twinning Association for 15 years and have helped other organizations in various ways. I joined the Parish Council my wife retiring as Parish Clerk, as I felt I now had the requisite qualifications. |

I recently completed four years as President of Feniton and Buckerell W.I. After a career in medical microbiology I developed my interest in social and local history by taking an Open University BA degree. Councillor I was born in Suffolk. I married a serving soldier who was born in Plymtree. For the next 32 years I travelled to various parts of the world following the Colours. On his retirement, we returned to his native South West. My work experience has included medical secretary, statistics clerk for the Home Office, training assistant in the construction industry, secretary for the National Grid, and admin assistant for EDDC in Best Value and Policy Departments. I have been Chairperson of a Townswomen’s Guild in the Midlands, involved in fund-raising for various charities and was a member of Feniton & Buckerell WI for a few years since moving here. I am also keen that the Parish Council be viewed as an effective body representing the views of parishioners with regard to our village environment and doing my best to serve this community. |
