Photograph Of Feniton Church

St.Andrew’s, Feniton, is a Church of England parish church. The building dates from the C13th. It is the only public place of worship in the village, and seeks to be open and accessible to all members of the community. To this end a variety of Sunday services are held in the parish church and in the village C of E primary school.

Physical access to both buildings is good, though facilities at the parish church are limited by the historic nature of the building.

Traditional activities, in keeping with a village church are actively encouraged and open to all, they include bell ringing, a choir, flower arranging and many more of the elements associated with village life.

Our services are broadly split into 3 styles and we would really love to see you at any of these, so do feel welcome to join in as and when you wish!

Parish Communion This service is fairly traditional in nature and uses the familiar pattern of worship found in many C of E churches. We worship the Lord in singing, prayer and Holy Communion. There is normally a sermon delivered by a local priest. The service is usually about 1 hour followed by refreshments.

Family Service This service is held in the church on the 4th Sunday of the month and is focused towards whole families and our younger members in particular! We worship God through singing and prayer and have a simpler (though no less profound!) teaching of the Word – usually with lots of participation from the children. This service is usually about 45 minutes.

WhizzBang!! This informal service is held at the Feniton primary school on the first and third Sunday of the month in addition to the normal Parish Communion at the church. It is primarily geared for whole families and primary school children in particular. We have a great time worshiping God through singing (mostly modern worship songs), prayers, action songs and games and we have great fun learning about our Lord through activities and crafts. This service aims to be about 45 minutes (though sometimes it’s a bit longer if we haven’t finished making things ;-) followed by refreshments.

The Parochial Church Council of St. Andrews extends a warm welcomes all who wish to attend services or simply visit the church.

Notes:
*Whizz-Bang services are Lay Lead and are held in Feniton Primary School. They are family oriented with a modern form of worship.
In all Parishes, Parish Communion will use Common Worship, as for the season.
Family Communion will use Common Worship variation.
At Festival time this pattern is liable to change e.g. at Patronal Festivals.
This service pattern will come into effect from 1st January 2007.
CE refers to the Revd. Cate Edmonds
On the Third Sunday at Feniton AC refers to Revd. Alfred Conway, and JC to the Revd. Jack Cruse.

We have attempted to provide a range of styles of worship within our three parishes. Please feel free to comment if we have not met your needs.
You will be assured of a warm welcome at any church within the group, and if you are new to the parish or area please make yourself known to the Sidesmen, Churchwardens or Vicar.

On the 4th Sunday in the month I will be taking services elsewhere in the Team Ministry, with the exception of the Escot Evensong.
